It’s useful to check where you are every once in a while, to put things into perspective.

If you recall in one of my previous posts, My Dutch Progress, I had recently come by the Michel Thomas Dutch Foundation course.

I completed 4 CDs out of the 8 but had to take a break for personal reasons I won’t go into at the moment. Unfortunately, I feel that I have lost track a little so, when I resume my studies, I will start again from CD1. Really, I should be trying to learn a little Dutch every day and not study in bursts – this is something I need to address soon…I shouldn’t be putting this off…..

I’ve compiled a list of various programs I have that I intend to get through in the very near future:

Paul McKenna audios (losing weight, better confidence etc.)
Eckhart Tolle – Power of Now (book and audio)
Real Social Dynamics’ Transformations (audio)
Paul Coelho – The Alchemist (book)
Listening Reading in Dutch
Holosync

Quite a varied and interesting list, don’t you think? I thought I would give you a taste of what I will be writing about on here in the days and weeks to come.

I’ve decided to dedicate one hour of active time per day to my self-development. That doesn’t include extra opportunities that I may have in the future such as listening to audios while on the train. However, I prefer to give my full attention to my activities – active rather than passive learning.

I thought I would share some other blogs with you. After all, my blog is not the only self development blog that exists out there.

Steve Pavlina

This must surely be the king of all blogs out there. Steve Pavlina is a full time blogger and I heard that his site gets something like one million hits every month!

Steve Pavlina’s Personal Development Blog

Sanjay

This blog has been going for about 3 years. It’s quite different to the other self dev blogs: Sanjay intersperses his blog posts with many pictures and uses current affairs to provoke thoughts on improvement.

Sanjay’s Self-Development Blog

MySelfDevelopment

This blog has a nice, minimalist, magazine style theme. I have no idea who writes it but it has been regularly updated for a couple of years now and features posts on a wide variety of topics. Definitely worth dropping by and taking a look.

MySelfDevelopment – Brain Food For Personal Growth

Kensray

Kensray is a nice looking blog written by a guy called Ricky who hangs out on the forums at Steve Pavlina’s site. Although he’s only been writing since January of this year, he seems to have a good, loyal following with regular comments for his posts.

He has a motto which is “self-experiment will teach you more about yourself than anyone or anything”. I can definitely relate to that as I need to do less reading and more practice!!

Whilst surfing Youtube the other day, I came across this interesting site, “I Power”.

Their slogan is “I am the revolution” and their self-professed principles are:

Being open-minded

Active thinking

Putting your vision into practice

I can certainly agree with those. I’ll have to create my own profile on there but in the meantime there is plenty more to do as they have videos to watch on topics such as: procrastination, existentialism, self-criticism and honesty, relationships and motivation.

Check it out here (links will automatically open in a new window):

I Power

I Power Crew Videos

What do you think?
